Blind Decision
Blind Decision
Participation in the Tri-Jam on 08/06/2025 as part of our video game studies at Haute École Albert Jacquard (Namur, Belgium).
We were two developers working on this small game, and each spent approximately 3 hours on design and programming. The game still needs some polishing in terms of presentation, but this was a fun and interesting experience.
Game Overview
You're a blind, retired bomb technician. Alone with a bomb. Can you defuse it in time and save lives?
The player presses buttons to make choices throughout the game, relying on sound and intuition to progress.
How We Came Up with the Idea
I wanted to interpret "A Special Box" in my own way. Since we didn’t have game art for detailed visuals, I turned this challenge into a unique gameplay element. Additionally, I had been wanting to try making an interactive choice-based game for a long time, and this jam was the perfect opportunity to experiment.
What’s Fun About the Concept
A few mini-puzzles to add some challenge. Multiple available endings, increasing replay value.
Challenges Faced During the Jam
Technical issues with coding. Some dead links for the music, causing difficulties.
Improvements Based on Feedback
I’m counting on your feedback to help improve the game!
Future Improvements
Enhancing the interface and improving the game’s visual appeal. Further developing the story to enrich the experience.
Controls
- Use the mouse to make choices.
